Elsie Lillian Roche, 90, of Waldorf, MD, died June 19, 2011, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Roche was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. In her earlier years, she was a costume maker for her children's plays at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Washington, DC. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, crocheting, her slot machines, playing cards, and watching Wheel of Fortune on TV. She also enjoyed driving her Cadillac car. She was a long-time caretaker of her mother in law and father and life most centered around her family.

Born February 21, 1921, in Millersburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jessie William Tolliver and the late Etta Eulice Caswell Tolliver.

Predeceased by her parents; her late husband, James Edward Roche, JR.; five brothers; and one late sister, Gladys "Goldie" Willett; and one late-great-grandchild, Jordan.

Survived by two sons, Anthony W. (Teresa) Roche of SC and James T. Roche of Waldorf, MD; two daughters, Teresa (Robert) Gretton of Waldorf, MD and Deborah J. Roche of Waldorf, MD; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, James, Andrew, Jennifer, Rachel, Jacob, Benjamin, and Norman; six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Ameilia, Robert, Grace, Haley, and Norman IV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 26, 2011, from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Fr. Thomas Crowley will officiate. Interment will be on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 10AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
