David Lynn Gifford, 56, of Port Republic, MD passed away suddenly at his home on May 30, 2011. He was born in Rochester, New York on June 9, 1954 to Jean Smullen Gifford and the late Francis Gifford.

Besides his father, David is predeceased by his siblings, Benson Davis, Jr., Robert Davis, Margaret Ann Davis, and Bruce Wilkerson. David was a steamfitter for Local # 602.

Father of Tristine Cherice Fletcher of Waldorf, MD and Robert Thomas "Tommy" Gifford of Ridgley, MD. Grandfather of Elizabeth, Summer, Reece, Brennan, and Christian Fletcher, Taylor and Jason Gifford. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Milazzo of Port Republic, MD and other family members, Traci Daily, Matthew Daily, and Samantha Daily.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676 on Thursday June 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, where services will be held on Friday June 3, 2011, 11 A.M. Interment is private.
