Edward Howard Hardy, 73, of Port Tobacco, MD, died May 19, 2011, at Genesis La Plata Center.
Mr. Hardy was a Tower Construction Supervisor with PEPCO in Washington, DC offices for 31 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Korean Conflict where he was a Marine Sniper and award-winning shooting team member. He was a great sportsman who enjoyed hunting and was an award-winning archer. He belonged to the Eutaw Forest Archery Club. Born January 29, 1938, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Edward Warner Hardy and the late Mary Marie Lindsay Hardy. Predeceased by his parents. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Gardiner Hardy; three brothers, Michael Hardy of FL; Joseph Grove of VA; Anthony Grove of FL; three sisters, Marcia and her husband Butch Roberts of FL; Stephanie and her husband Michael Polvinale of FL; Theresa Grove of FL. Visitation will be on Friday, May 27, 2011, from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Fr. Robert Golas will officiate.
