Russell W. Duncan, Sr., 93, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on April 17, 2011. He was the last child born on Holland Island, MD on February 10, 1918 to the late Walter Webber and Mary Amelia Price Duncan Sr.

Mr. Duncan played an active part in restoring Flag Ponds. He was a founder and active member of the First Baptist Church of Calvert County, and Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 903 in Huntingtown. Mr. Duncan retired from NOL and Calvert County Government. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoors man.

Beloved husband of the late Vivian Cox Duncan, he is survived by a son, Russell W. Duncan, Jr. of Fort Worth Texas, and daughter Mary Grace Freeland of Prince Frederick, MD. Grandfather of Jennifer Stitt, Richard Duncan, Susan Mattingly, and Victoria Reyno, he is also survived by seven great grandchildren and two brothers, Tom and Webber Duncan, both of Easton MD.

The family will receive friends on Friday April 22, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the First Baptist Church of Calvert County, German Chapel Road and Rt 4, Prince Frederick, MD where services will be held on Saturday April 23, 2011, 10 A.M. with Rev. Ralph Nevin officiating. Interment will be private.
