Elsie Mae Herbert DeLoatch, 78, of Waldorf, MD, died April 8, 2011, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.
Mrs. DeLoatch was a self-employed domestic engineer for 50 years. She was a lover of flowers, birds, cooking, traveling and vacations and was a great seamstress. She enjoyed being with her family and children and always sent cards on special days. Born November 20, 1932, in Sunderland, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Herbert and the late Evelyn Duvall Herbert. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold DeLoatch; son, Ronald E. Herbert; brother, James Herbert; sister, Shirley DeLoatch. Survived by her loving companion, Greene Hobson; son, Kevin Herbert and his wife Delthene of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Joyce A. and her husband Colbert Carter of Waldorf, MD; brother, John T. Herbert of NJ; sisters, Velma Hobson of NJ; Sylvia Booth of Owings, MD. Also survived by five grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be private.
