Mr. Valiant was a dance instructor, teaching dance in many venues in Southern Maryland for 50 years and a veteran of the United States Army OSS, having served during World War II. He was a member for 41 years of the American Legion Post in La Plata, MD and a life-time member of the DAV, VFW, and the Moose Lodge. He was also a liquor salesman for many years in Southern Maryland. He was also known for serving as a DJ with many functions throughout Southern Maryland. He enjoyed photography and boating.

Son of the late Anthony Valiant and the late Nellie Ricci Valiant.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline May Valiant; two daughters, Rosemarie Toni (Bill) Evatt of FL and Catrina (William) Pavlik-Keenan of Waldorf, MD; one brother, Joseph Valiant of FL; and one sister, Rose Bente of NY. Also survived by four grandchildren, Lindsey, Brian, Anthony, and Eric and six great- grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Funeral Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Clergy: Rev. Mark Roberson.

Interment: MD Veterans' Cemetery - Cheltenham, MD on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11AM. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Army Honor Guard.
