King, Leslie Rose (Age 37) of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Leslie Rose King was born May 31, 1973 in Manhattan, New York to proud parents, Sylvester E. King and Gloria M. Williams-King.

Leslie, began her early childhood education in New York City Public School 273 in Brooklyn, New York. Relocating with her family to Denmark, South Carolina, Leslie continued her education at Denmark Elementary School and Denmark-Olar High School where she was an outstanding basketball player. On May 31, 1990 she graduated, receiving an Athletic Scholarship from Voorhees College, Denmark, South Carolina where she majored in Political Science and diligently played Basketball that she loved so much.

Leslie relocated to Arlington, Virginia for an employment opportunity with the Federal Government. She worked in Child Development at Fort Myers Army Base and played Basketball with the Fort Myers Women Basketball Teams until she began her career as a bus driver with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (METRO). She ultimately advanced to her current position of Rail Operator. Leslie also worked part-time with Kastle System in Arlington, Virginia.

Leslie was an exceptional and devoted mother who was active in the lives of her two sons, Javarrus KeShawn King and Kahlil deJour Nesbit. If they had a game, she was there. She also enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.

Suddenly, on March 14, 2011, while traveling from West Virginia, Leslie transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal.

In addition to her sons, Leslie's memories will be lovingly cherished by her parents, Sylvester E. King of New York and Gloria M. Williams of Washington, D.C., brother, Brian C. King of Laurel, Maryland, two nephews, Jamar E. King and Jahlil E. King, one niece, Essence A. King all of Laurel, Maryland, a beloved friend who was like a sister, Sharrita Orr, a precious Goddaughter, Kamille Swygert, a beloved aunt, Harriet Conley of Denmark, South Carolina and a host of relatives, friends and co-workers.

Services in Maryland will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Viewing, 4:00pm until time of Service, 7:00pm.
