Edward Richard "Ed" Johnson Sr. of La Plata,(Dentsville) Maryland formerly of Hyattsville, MD died on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 69 years old.

Born March 3, 1937 in Cottage City, MD, he was the son of the late Anna Claire and Milton Frederick Johnson. He worked for the Washington Gas Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1993 as Director of Administrative Services. He enjoyed playing golf and reading, but mostly being with his wife and his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Chapel of Waldorf, Maryland.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cathy Johnson; daughter Cathy and her husband Lui Dieguez of Mechanicsville, MD; son Ed Jr. and his wife Lois Johnson of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter Rene and her husband Skip Inabinett of Centreville, VA; grandchildren Anthony, Patrick, Luke, Jacob, Caitlin, Krissy, Rick, Joe, Julie, Jenny, Joshy and Jillian; siblings Catherine Thompson, Mick Johnson, Margaret Lundreagan, Bob Johnson, Fran Sullivan and Robert "Snook" Hammett; and sister-in-law Rita Tippett.

Family to receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Februry 25, 2007 from 2PM to 5PM with Services at 5PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Rd. Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 with the Reverend Paul Goodwin officiating. Interment will be private.
