Philip "Buddy" L. Welch, Jr., 55, of Port Tobacco, MD passed away on February 8, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Buddy is preceded in death by his mother; Gladys Welch.

Buddy is survived by his parents; Philip L. Welch, Sr., and step-mother; Judy Welch. Wife; Linda Welch. Brother; Christopher Welch, and half-brothers; Keith Welch, and Jay Welch.

Buddy enjoyed hunting, and carving wild fowl out of wood. He trained dogs for field trial events and hunting. He was the owner of the Olde Port Retrievers, and bred Labrador Retrievers.

A viewing will take place on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 10 am until 12:30 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD with the Rev. Ronald Potts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charles County Humane Society.
