Thomas Wendell Harley, 60, of La Plata, Maryland, died of bone cancer at his home in the loving care of his family on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

Born on June 18, 1950 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Melvin and the late Mary Harley. Thomas was the third of eleven children.

Mr. Harley attended the University of Maryland. He worked and later retired from the Prince George's County Public Schools as Building Supervisor. He later worked for several car dealerships as a salesman. He enjoyed vacationing and spending time with family. No matter what, he was always there with advice and a helping hand; he loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing grass on his Ford tractor. He loved cars and attended and entered many car shows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Marcel; his brother Kyro Harley; sister Valerie Butler; niece Donja Harley; nephew Kiko Proctor.

He is survived by his sisters Cynthia Savoy and her husband Karl of Bryans Road, MD, Ranaye Harley of La Plata, MD, Theresa Proctor and her husband Randy of Mechanicsville, MD, Lisa Harley of Marion, VA; his brothers James Harley and his wife Diane of San Antonio, TX, John Harley of Indian Head, MD, Anthony Harley of Montgomery Village, MD, David Harley of Crofton, MD; also survived three grandchildren, five aunts, eight uncles, 19 nieces and nephews, 23 great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 9AM to 11AM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, Maryland 20646.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 Noon on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way Pomfret, MD 20675 with Father Robert Kosty officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Harley, Karl Savoy, Kyro Savoy, Tio Proctor, Steve Burch and Ryan Thomas.
