Lucille Grantham Cockerham, 82 of La Plata, MD died January 25, 2011 at her home. Born April 5, 1928 in Nashville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ashley Grantham and the late Queen Grantham LeMay.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her brothers, Gordon Grantham and McCoy Grantham.

She is survived by her children Garold and his wife Donna, Jacquelin and her husband Lynn, Victor and his wife Michelle; grandchildren, Tommy, Victor Lee, Heath, Pamela, John, and Katie; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with prayers at 7pm. A life celebration will be held at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home on January 29, 2011 at 11am led by Pastor Tim Bean. Burial will take place at the Mt. Rest Cemetery, La Plata, MD.

Pallbearers will be her grandson's, Tommy, Victor Lee, Heath, Chris, John, and Justin.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Charles County Hospice House.
