Mr. Simpson was a Service Writer with Southern Maryland Electric Co. for 42 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, always known as a very devoted Catholic. He enjoyed gardening in his flower beds, in his early years he worked at the White House Hotel in Newburg, MD and after his retirement from Southern Maryland Electric, he worked at Burlington Coat Factory in Waldorf, MD.

Son of the late Edward Earl Simpson and the late Katherine Lucile Davis Simpson.

Predeceased by his parents; late step-son, Jeffrey Burch, Sr., and a late brother, Phillip Simpson.

Survived by his wife of 32 years, Maurine Tarbox Simpson; one step-son, Roy (Alaina) Burch, Jr. of Rio, WV; one step-daughter, Theresa (Richard) Good of Ironsides, MD. Also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 20, 2011, from 9:30AM until Mass time at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD.

Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Interment will take place at St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Newport, MD.

Pallbearers: Scottie, Bernie, Russell, and Gary Tarbox, Jr., Todd Good, and Bruce Curtis.

Honorary Pallbears: Gary Tarbox, Sr., and Dickie Bowling.
