Hawkins, Shaneka Nicole (Age 28) of Waldorf, Maryland.

Shaneka Nicole Hawkins (Nek) peacefully departed this life for one eternal on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland with her loving family by her side.

She was born on July 22, 1982 to Warren and Cynthia (Johnson) Hawkins at Civista Medical Center in LaPlata, Maryland.

Shaneka was a humble and loving person, who was adored by her family. In 2003 she graduated from Wesklake High School in Waldorf, Maryland. She continued her education at the Charles County Adult Day Care in LaPlata, Maryland.

Shaneka had a smile that would light up a room and she was always full of joy. She loved listening to "oldies but goodies" music and also enjoyed long summer walks and car rides.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Marie P. Day, grandmother, Shirley Johnson, grandfathers, Francis Hawkins and Alvin Johnson, Sr. and god-father, Donald Keys.

Left to cherish loving memories are: her parents, Warren and Cynthia Hawkins, little sisters, Tineisha Hawkins and Candace Proctor, nephew, Kaidyn Paige,a special friend, Samuel Paige, great-grandmother, Elizabeth Stewart, grandmothers, Margaret Hawkins and Deloris Keys, loving god mother, Debbie Hawkins, many aunts and uncles; Ramona (Tyrone), Anna (James), Ericka, Debbie, Dale, Diane (Edwin), Linda, Monica, Gale (Michael), Sheila, Alvin (Theresa), Jason (Shree), Rydell (Crystal), Jerry, Ward, Rod, Donnie (Dottie) and a host of cousins and other relatives.

Viewing, 9:00am until time of Service, 10:00am on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Free Gospel Church of Bryans Road, 3180 Livingston Road, Bryans Road, Maryland 20616. Interment, St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
