Linda Rogger-Rivera, 62, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away at home on November 30, 2010.
Linda was a loving wife, sister, daughter and beloved aunt died after a battle with cancer. She had been a resident of Prince Frederick since September 2008 after having relocated from New York City to be closer to her family. Linda was born in Queens, New York on January 15, 1948 to Ruth and the late Robert Rogger. She grew up in Woodside, Queens and attended Our Lady of Fatima Grammar School and St. Albert High School in Brooklyn, Class of '65. She lived most of her adult life in Jamaica Estates, Queens and was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a successful buyer for many years for Alexander's Department Store and completed her career in retail. In her final years, she was a devoted and loving aunt and caregiver to her grandniece, Maggie and her grandnephew, Liam who were very fond of their "Aunt Poo". Linda joined St. John Vianney Parrish in Prince Frederick, which she had adopted as her new spiritual home. She will be missed terribly by her husband, Gil Rivera , mother Ruth, sisters, Nancy McGowan, Robin Rogger and Karen Bixler, nephews William McGowan and his wife Suzanne, Timothy McGowan, Daniel McGowan, Nicholas Bixler, niece Sara Rogger and grandniece Scarlet. She was also loved by countless friends both in New York and Maryland, and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and selflessness to all of God's creatures. In her final months, Linda and her husband were grateful for the care and compassion she received from Calvert Hospice. The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Friday December3, 2010 from 4-6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday December 4, 2010, 10:30 A. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 470 Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD.
