Hazel Johnson Ward, age 90, of Friendship, MD passed away October 30, 2010 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, MD. She was born December 3, 1919 in St. Leonard, MD to John Herbert, Sr. and Malvina Knight Johnson.

She was raised in Friendship, MD, attended the former Friendship and old Tracey's schools and graduated from Southern High School in Lothian. She married James Robert Ward in October 1942 and they lived in Friendship. Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Robert.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Robert, a son, John H. "Johnny" Ward, brothers J. Herbert "Bud" Johnson and John K. Johnson, and by a sister Virginia J. Ford.

She is survived by two sons, J. Robert "Bobby" Ward, Jr. and Geoffrey J. Ward, both of Friendship, and by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
