Myers, Ralph Alexander (Age 82) of Bryans Road, Maryland
Ralph Alexander Myers was the 1st child born to the late Ralph D. and Constance C. Myers on August 17, 1928, in Bryans Road, Maryland. Ralph quietly and peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2010 at the Fort Washington Hospital Medical Center. Ralph was raised in the Bryans Road area where he attended the Charles County public schools. After graduation, he went to work as a gas station attendant and a few years later he became employed with the U.S. Government Printing Office as a book binder and retired from there with 41 years of service. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Bertha Mae Timberlake on April 22, 1950 in Washington, D.C. From this union was born four children, Stanley and Gary, who both preceded him in death, Linda and Jeffrey. You would always see Ralph riding his lawn mower and if he wasn't out there, you knew he had to be sick. Ralph also liked listening to his gospel music especially The Canton Spirituals and Lee Williams. In 1984, Ralph joined Mentrotrone Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and later became a member of the Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Indian Head, Maryland. Ralph leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Linda C. Beeler; one son, Jeffrey A. Myers; eight grandchildren, Tony Sr. (Tamara), Nickia, Ebony, Mike, Kimberly, Sean, Gabriel and Branden; four great-grandchildren, Arielle, Ashton, Tony Jr. and Cayden; two sisters, Shirley Thomas and Lillie Browne (Paul); five brothers, Leon (Pearl) Lawrence (Barbara), Ronald, Robert (Queen), and Gardnell (Carrie); sisters-in-law, Edna Myers and Melissa Myers, two great-aunts, Ophelia Myers and Lillian Richardson (Freddie); and two great-uncles, Oliver (Alice) and Girard (Edith), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. When some sorrow, like a mighty river, Flows through your life – with peace-destroying power, And dearest things are swept from sight forever, Say to your heart each trying hour; This, too; shall pass away. --The Family Viewing, 10am until time of Service, 11am on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery. Arrangements, THORNTON Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, Maryland. |
