Andrew S. "Andy" Gallia Jr., 87, of Hollywood, MD died September 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD. Born May 12, 1923 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Andrew S. and Pearl L. Goode Gallia, Sr.

Mr. Gallia was the loving husband of Regina C. Gilesky Gallia whom he married in St. Peters Catholic Church, Washington, DC in 1944 and he preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage.

Mr. Gallia is also survived by his children; Jean Ritter of Pasadena, MD, Donna Gallia of Los Angeles, CA and Michael Gallia. He was preceded in death by his two sons; Anthony and Clifford Gallia as well as a brother Marion Gallia.

Mr. Gallia graduated from McKinley Technology High School in Washington, DC. Andy Gallia was always "GO" Navy. He started to work for the U.S. Naval Gun Factory at age 18 during World War II. Later he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician and served for 6 years. Mr. Gallia retired from the Washington, DC, Naval Research Laboratory in 1976 after 28 years of service. He was a member of NARFE: National Association of Retired Federal Employees, he enjoyed R.V. travels, boating, fishing, motorcycling and the challenge of solving technical problems.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 10:00-11:00 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial following that will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating and Mr. Gallia's cousin, Fr. William Goode co-officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
