Matthew Brian Snellings, 51 of Waldorf died on September 12, 2010 at his residence.

Born on November 16, 1958 in Washington, DC, he was the son of George Henry, III and Mary Femiano Snellings. Matthew was an Information Security Officer at Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center were he had worked for 22 years.

He was previously the director and treasurer of the Charles County Technology Council, and enjoyed staying current with computer technology, investing, researching his genealogy and spending time with his family.

He grew up in Cheverly, Maryland and later settled, along with his parents and siblings, in Southern Maryland where he pursued and earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his eldest brother Pat Snellings, who died in 2000.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dana Snellings, step-children, Lauren, Tim, and Sam Myett, siblings, Wanda and Vicki Hoover, George, David, and Mark Snellings.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, MD followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wilfred Parent officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bryantown, MD.
