Emmett Clayton Walker, 90, of Waldorf, MD, formerly of Camps Springs, MD died August 30, 2010 at his residence. Born February 4, 1920 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky he was the son of James Montgomery Walker and Carolyn Scanlon Walker.

Mr. Walker served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and later in the U.S. Air Force, serving time in Normandy during World War II and completing his career at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington, D.C. He retired after 20 years of service at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then went to work for the Naval Ordnance Station at Indian Head, MD as a Department of Defense Policeman until his second retirement. Mr. Walker loved to fish and work in his garden. He was a Master Mason, belonging to the Camp Springs Masonic Lodge #227 and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Julia Halla Chapter #107 in Hollywood, MD.

Besides his parents, Mr. Walker was predeceased by his wife Beryl Mary (Glover) Walker of 56 years, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his younger brother Allin of Renton WA., daughter, Susan J. Walker; sons, Stuart C. Walker (Carole), Kenneth A. Walker (April) and Stephen E. Walker (Karla) and 8 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for Emmett's Life Celebration on 6 Sep 2010 6 to 8pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A service will be held 7 Sep 2010 at 12:30. Interment will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Charles County, P.O. Box 1703, LaPlata, MD 20646.
