Doris L. Deakins 92 of Nanjemoy, Md. died on August 24, 2010 at Civista Medical Center in LaPlata, Md. Mrs. Deakins was born on October 3, 1917 to the late Ernest and Mary Posey. She is also predeceased by her husband Wilbur K. Deakins, four brothers , five sisters and two grandsons.

She is survived by her sons Russell E. Deakins (Doris A.) and Larry F. Deakins, four granddaughters, four grandsons, and many great grandchildren.

Mrs. Deakins loved crochet, crafts, canning and sewing.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 31st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Arehart - Echols Funeral Home La Plata, Md. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 1st 11:30am at the Nanjemoy Baptist Church Pastor Brian Corrick officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
