William Joseph Pitner, 72 of Bryans Road, MD, died on August 22, 2010 in Lothian, MD.

Born on August 5, 1938 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John and Nellie Virginia Barnes Pitner. William was a union painter.

William was preceded in death by his children, Dawn M. Redford and Donna A. Pitner, brothers, John T. Wilks and Richard E. Pitner.

Survived by his loving wife, Doris Marie Houser Pitner, children, Patricia Ann Pitner, Deborah Marie Pitner, Dale ChristineTomco, Billie Jo Pitner, Doris Ann Fowler, Shenandoah Pitner, William Michael Pitner, Wayne Morris Pitner, Christopher Kirk Pitner, and Patrick Kelly Pitner, sisters, Georgiana M. Baugham, Helen E. Moorman, and Marjorie Fry, sister-in-law, Frances Saunders, 30 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
