Gerald David "Bunker" Roberts, 58, of Waldorf, MD, died on August 6, 2010, at his home under hospice care.

Born June 7, 1952, in La Plata, he was the son of the late Lester Elmer Roberts and the late Violet Virginia Duke Roberts.

For Bunker, his family was his first priority. He had graduated from Thomas Stone High School in 1970 and later was a Welder Foreman for years with R & R Fabrication, Inc. He was an avid bowler and played in bowling leagues. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhart Jr., the Colts football team and his annual trip to Las Vegas. He coached the Special Olympics Basketball team for 11 years and he attended New Life Church.

In addition to his parents, Bunker is preceded in death by his brothers, Russell Lee and Lester Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane L. Roberts; sons, Branden and Brent Roberts; brothers, William, John, Roy, James and Jack Roberts; sisters, Elizabeth Shaw, Shirley Broadwater and Nancy Knight; also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, from 5PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010, beginning at 10AM at the New Life Church, 9690 Shepherd's Creek Place, La Plata, MD.

Pallbearers will be Cowboy, Mike, Mike, JJ, Dale, and Matt.

Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Charles County, P. O. Box 1703, La Plata, MD 20646.
