Mrs. Hicks was a domestic cleaner for many homes in Charles County and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD. Following her mother's death at a young age, she at 14 helped raise 10 siblings. She loved cooking, making wine, baking, and having parties. She also found time to help with her nieces and nephews and could make clothing without a pattern just from her head.

Daughter of the late Frank Farmer and the late Ella Scriber Farmer.

Predeceased her parents; her late husband, George S. Hicks; five brothers, and two sisters.

Survived by two sisters, Agnes O. (Lawrance) Muschette of Waldorf, MD and Dorothy N. Dargan of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation: Friday, June 4, 2010 from 9-10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM.

Clergy: Father Ron Potts.

Interment: Church Cemetery.
