Clarence Leroy White Sr., 85, died peacefully on May 25, 2010 at CIVISTA in La Plata, Maryland. Born, March 8, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen White.

He was educated in the Cape May County, NJ school systems. He graduated from Cape May High School in 1944. After High School, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. He later attended Hampton Institute, where he met the love of his life, Anna B. White. While at Hampton he was initiated as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity by the Gamma Epsilon Chapter on December 11, 1948. He received his B.S. Degree from Hampton in Industrial Arts Education in 1951. He was employed by the Charles County School system where he taught Industrial Arts at Pomonkey High School for several years and served the Charles County community as a Master Electrician. He was a supporter of the local branch of the NAACP and was awarded a Community Service Award from the Nu Zeta Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. He was a faithful member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church. He served as Record keeper of the Finance Committee and was honored as Metropolitan Man of the Year by the United Methodist Men in 1985.

He was a faithful family man and enjoyed music, sports and special projects that needed repairs.

He is survived by his wife, Anna White; son's, Charles (Tanya), Clarence, Jr. (JoAnn), Norman (Anita) & Vlan (Vivian); 5 grandchildren, Tamara, Charles Jr., Taliaferro, Courtney & Candace; 1 great granddaughter, Michelle; 2 sisters, Marian Alexander and Lillian Russell; 1 brother, Walter White and a host of other family and friends. Predeceased are 2 sisters, Vera Tillman and Helen White.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1st, at 9 am until time of service, 11 am at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road, Indian Head, MD (Pomonkey). Interment Church Cemetery.
