Mr. Russell was an Installer with Washington Gas Company for 38 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Pius Council in Forestville, MD. He was an Usher for 25 years at Mt. Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, MD. He is currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD. He was a huge sports fan, especially of the Redskins and the Washington Nationals. He payed golf with the White Plains Senior Golf Association. He was a very active member of the Clark Senior Center, participating in dancing and the Pool League.

He was son of the late Francis Coombs Russell and the late Mary M. Russell

He was predeceased by his parents, beloved wife of 36 years, Ruth F. Russell, two brothers, Raymond Russell and Raley Russell, and one sister, Mary E. O'Haver.

He is survived by three sons, Michael J. (Carole) Russell of La Plata, MD, Thomas F. (Mary) Russell of Clifton, MD, and David C. Russell of Waldorf, MD, and one daughter, Linda A. (James) Brown of Huntingtown, MD. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 5-8pm with prayers at 7:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, La Plata, MD.

Clergy will be Fr. Ron Potts.

Pallbearers will be Mike Patterson, Guy White, David Russell, Jr., Anthony Russell, Thomas Russell, Jr., and Daniel Russell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Navy Honor Guard

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
