Died April 29, 2010 in Winter Park, FL born in Rochester, NY, April 6, 1929. Served in the Korean War where he was wounded at Heartbreak Ridge and received the Purple Heart. Moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1959. He was employed by the Hecht Company where he retired in April 1990. He received his Real Estate Certificate from Southern Maryland Community College and worked for Select Homes until he retired in October 2002.

He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans, a member of the American Legion Post Number 206, Chesapeake Beach and a member of the VFW Post Number 8950 Greenbelt, Md.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of Casselberry, FL, his children Suzanne Parkes of Casselberry, FL, Judy Roberts of Winter Springs, FL, Linda Parkes of Reston, VA, Michael Parkes of Clearwater Beach, FL, John Parkes of Casselberry, FL and Billy Parkes of Orlando, FL, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held May 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Arlington National Cemetery. Meet at the Administration Building at 2:30.
