Marjorie Elinor Johnson, age 78, of Dunkirk, MD, formerly of Jessup, MD, died April 8, 2010 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1931 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Wilfred and Mabel Tate King.
She was raised in Milton, MA and attended public school. She married Ben Vann Johnson on December 1, 1951, and they lived in North Carolina and Massachusetts while he served in the US Navy. They settled in northern Virginia in 1967 where they raised their family, later moving to Jessup, MD. Mr. Johnson died August 12, 1997, and Marjorie lived in Dunkirk with her daughter Teresa for the past several years. Marjorie was a restaurant manager and owner for many years, as well as being a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. In her leisure time she was especially fond of playing card games with family and friends, and she also enjoyed fishing, travel, reading, playing Bingo and computer games. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben, a son Ronald B. Johnson, five sisters and four brothers. She is survived by a daughter Teresa A. Del Casino of Dunkirk, sons James E. Johnson of Brentwood, TN, Richard G. Johnson of Maryland and David A. Johnson of Owings. Also surviving are grandchildren Ian and Richard Ben Johnson and three great-grandchildren.
