Richard Joseph "Buddy" Bercier, 56, of Indian Head, MD, died March 29, 2010, at his residence.
Buddy was an iron worker / welder with Capitol Welding in Waldorf, MD for 16 years and a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head, MD. Buddy was a graduate of Suitland High School Class of 1971. Prior to his work at Capitol Welding he worked for PEPCO at Morgantown for 20 years. He was a member of the Mattawoman Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crabbing and especially his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Born December 20, 1953, in Washington, DC, he was the son of Lyle Joseph Bercier and Betty Louise James Bercier. Predeceased by his brother, William Bercier. Survived by his parents, Lyle and Betty Bercier of Indian Head, MD; brother, Robert J. and his wife Sue Bercier of White Plains, MD; sister, Linda and her husband Mark Kirkwood of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010, from 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 6, at 11AM, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Indian Head, MD. Fr. Robert Golas will officiate. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 30 Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, MD 20640.
