Albert Walter Folkman, 66, of Mechanicsville, MD died March 31, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born January 18, 1944 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Albert Julius Folkman and Ethel Splaine Folkman. Mr. Folkman was a retired Police Detective with the Metropolitan Police Department. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and lawn work, swimming, teaching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to swim, the Raiders, Country Music, old Rock n' Roll and Elvis.

Mr. Folkman was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jayne Folkman; sons, Mark Folkman and his wife, Paige and Justin S. Matthews; daughters, Sherry Termine and her husband, Michael and Tara Marie Mitchell and her husband Matthew; mother-in-law, Mary Spalding; sister, Mary Whorley and 4 grandchildren, Amber Termine, Ashton Termine , Austin Folkman and Dylan Folkman and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for Albert's Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Brinsfield-Echols at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Mechanicsville, MD. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
