Sarah Jean West, 83, of Port Republic, MD passed away on March 24, 2010 at her home. She was born on September 7, 1926, in Bridgeport, Illinois to the late Gertrude Gould and Grover Cleveland Eaton.

She is also predeceased by her brother, Ray Eaton. Jean retired from Prince Georges County School System where she worked as a dietitian.

She was a lifetime member of Morningside Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of Waters Memorial United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed knitting, quilting, and reading historical and mystery novels.

Beloved wife of the late Robert Dice West, Sr. devoted mother of Robert Dice West, Jr., of Wallace NC, Dennis W. West of LaPlata, MD, Kenneth W. West of King George, VA, Steven E. West of Lake Anna, VA, and Jeffrey W. West of Bunker Hill, WVA. Grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 18, she is also survived by her sisters, Marian Tosti, of Falls Church, VA and Marjorie Burr, of Noble IL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 27, 2010, 11 A.M. at Waters Memorial United Methodist Church, 5400 Mackall Rd., St. Leonard, MD 20685. Interment is private. Memorial contributions may be made to Waters Memorial UMC.
