Milton Fred Hein, Jr., 78, of Newburg, MD, died February 24, 2010, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata.

Mr. Hein was the owner and operator for 40 years of Mil-Mar, Inc., which he founded in 1968. It was the first custom home builders in Charles County. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Moose Lodge in White Plains and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, crabbing, avid Redskin fan, painting, wood crafting, cooking, traveling, farming, golfing, and blue grass music. He most enjoyed family get-togethers.

Born June 13, 1931, in Dubuque, IA, he was the son of the late Milton F. Hein, Sr., and the late Virginia May Donner Hein.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, David and Howard Hein; and sisters, Marlene, Nancy, and Barbara Hein.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret M. Hein; sons, John D. and his wife Gail Hein of Newburg, MD; Milton F. and his wife Ruth Hein, III of Charlotte Hall, MD; and James F. and his wife Wanda Hein of La Plata, MD; daughters, Mary "BeBe" and her husband Tom Cullifer of Colonial Beach, VA; Cheryl A. and her husband David Steger of La Plata, MD; Kathleen V. and her husband Jack O'Grady of Newburg, MD; and Jennifer L. and her husband Tony Batts of Hughesville, MD; brothers, Bruce and Richard Hein, both of WI; sister, Diane Fishler of WI. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, March 1, 2010, from 4-8 PM with prayers at 6:30 PM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 11:00AM, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Father Greg Coan will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James T. Cullifer, Ricky Burch, John Hein, Jr., Garry Cofer, Jr., Matthew O'Grady, Milton Hein, IV, Justin Hein, Michael Garrow and Andy Burch.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.
