Whalen, Ethel Delores Brown (Age 67) of La Plata, Maryland.

"Yes Indeed ... I Love My Lord and Savior. I'm In My New Home Peacefully Resting In Jesus' Loving Arms."

Suddenly on February 18, 2010, Ethel "Delores" Brown Whalen was called home where she now has eternal rest. Delores, as she was affectionately known by everyone, was born in La Plata, MD, on July 26, 1942 to the late Bernice Brown and the late Joseph Brown.

Delores was joined in holy matrimony to the late Thomas E. Whalen.

She was educated in the Charles County Public School System and attended Bel Alton High School, in Bel Alton, MD. For numerous years, Delores was a Manager in the growing fast food industry from which she retired. She had a caring heart and always took care of others when they were in need. She provided care, love, kindness and support for the elderly, the sick and those that were shut-in. She had so much love in her heart and it was demonstrated in how she treated everyone which is why she was loved by all.

Delores devoted her life to Jesus Christ at a very early age and was a faithful Catholic. She took Jesus with her everywhere she went.

Delores had a very special relationship with her only daughter, "June Girl." When her daughter was born, Delores was thankful for her precious gift. She dedicated her life to her and they became inseparable. Family was important and spending time with them gave her great joy, whether it was at her daughter's home or at the home of her granddaughter, Shannon.

To adequately describe Delores would take countless hours but to sum her up, she was a remarkable woman with great style.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, "Dump" Brown, sister, nephews, Leon "Terrell" Gray and Ricky Gray and one of the tremendous loves of her life, great-grandson, Dionnte' "Dion" Swinson.

Left to cherish many fond memories, daughter, June "June Girl" Brown, Grandchildren, Timothy "Boodee" Brown, LaShannan "Tinka Poo" Brown, and Christopher "NuNu" Brown, grandson -in-law, Mark A.
