Rita Joan Morgan, age 88, of Dunkirk, MD died February 12, 2010 at Solomons Nursing Center surrounded by her family. She was born March 15, 1921 in Newport, RI to James Aloysius and Grace (Petronella) Fatzie.

Rita was raised and educated in Long Island, NY. She moved to Washington and worked for the Department of the Navy during World War II.

She married Leo Joseph Morgan in Washington, DC on October 25, 1942. The couple resided for many years in the Forestville area.

Mrs. Morgan moved to Dunkirk in 1997. Rita was a member of Mt. Calvary Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity. She enjoyed playing the piano, loved board games and crossword puzzles. Rita enjoyed flowers and family gatherings and will always be remembered for her ever present smile .

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo J. Morgan. Surviving are her children Patricia Morgan of Junction City, KS, Gail Dean and her husband James of Scotland, MD, Susan Dade and her husband Robert of Dunkirk, MD and Kevin G. Morgan and his wife Renie of Waldorf, MD and a sister Mary Carey of Huntington, Long Island, NY. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
