Mark Norman Brooks, 74, of White Plains, MD, died February 7, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Brooks was a retired civil servant for the U.S. Census Bureau. He was a member of the Morningside American Legion. He loved to play softball, fish and bowled on a league. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and Washington Bullets fan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.

Born November 26, 1935, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore Norman Brooks and the late Martha Norma Williams.

Predeceased by his parents; brother, Samuel Anglin.

Survived by his wife, Genevieve S. Brooks; sons, Darrell Brooks of Gainesville, VA; Theodore Brooks of Broomes Island, MD; daughters, Gayle and her husband Billy Shumaker of Mechanicsville, MD; Jeannine Brooks of Mechancisville, MD; five grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 20, 2010, 1PM, at St. Joseph's Activity Center, Pomfret, MD.

Fr. Mark Smith will officiate.
