Mr. Hyde was the Owner/Operator of Hyde's Nursery on Bumpy Oak Road for many years. He was a member of the American Nurseryman Association for 35 years and the American Legion Post in La Plata for 50 years. He was a veteran of the united States Air Force and a lifetime Charles County resident. He was also a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.

He was son of the late Louis Southgate Hyde, Sr. and the late Mabel A. DeLozier Hyde

He was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Shannon Hyde, two sons, Leonard M. (Kathleen) Hyde and Denton C. (Michelle) Hyde, one daughter, Winette C. Hyde, three sisters, Mattie Shafer, Mabel Johnson, and Millie Phillips, and four grandchildren, Meredith Wise, David Shipman, and Devin and Drew Hyde.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11am at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Clergy will be the Rev. Kenneth Bowen.

Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
