James D. Shorter, 85, passed away at Civista Medical Center on February 7, 2010.

He is predeceased by his parents; Thomas A. Shorter and Lillian E. Fowler Shorter. Also by his brother; Thomas Shorter, and his sister; Mabel Rollins.

He is survived by his wife Rita Burch Shorter, daughters; Lynn Nalley (Wayne), Judy Farrall, Margie Earnshaw (J. Richard). Sisters; Helen Lancaster, Viola Hill, and Mildred Blacklock, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 3 pm until 7 pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 7 pm. Mass will follow on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church-Chapel Point. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Ignatius Church.
