Mary Catherine Kraus Guy, 84, of California, MD died February 8, 2010 at her residence.
Born July 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George Joseph Kraus, Sr. and Queenie Victoria Gatton Kraus. She graduated from St. Michael's High School in Ridge, MD. She had worked in retail sales for Sears and Roebuck until her retirement, she had also work for C & P Telephone and Ben Franklin Store. Mary Catherine enjoyed spending time cooking meals and baking for her family. She spent a lot of time visiting and helping family members and friends in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes. She also enjoyed making jellies and jams. She is survived by her daughter Mary Catherine Dean (Mr. Porter) of Callaway, MD, the grandmother of Mary C.D. Hobbs, Cynthia M. Elliott (Craig), Regina M. Combs (Charles) and Thomas E. Dean, Jr. (Stephanie), Paul A. Guy (Gwen), Regina M. Biscoe (Tim), Jessica R. Kerrill (Jake). She was the great-grandmother of Larry and Brady Hobbs, Trish and Bree Elliott Andrew, Robin and Cody Combs, Ashley Tennyson and TJ Dean, Kelby Guy, Brandon and Ashley Biscoe, Charlie, Sue and Michael Kerrill and the great great-grandmother of Dallas Bennett. She is also survived by sisters, Martha Guy of Lexington Park, MD and Nettie Parish (Paul) of Valley Lee, MD a brother, George Kraus (Shirley) of Bel Air, MD and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Guy, Sr. and her son, Raymond A. Guy, Jr. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 16555 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD 20680. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Jack Kennealy officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's School Fund or Hospice of St. Mary's.
