Richard James Keeler, 75, of La Plata, MD, died January 28, 2010, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Mr. Keeler was a self-employed driver. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served nine years 1952 - 1961 and was deployed to Iceland. Mr. Keeler was a vet tech with a private Alpaca Farm and a driver for the Amish in St. Mary's County and a long time employee of Clinton Fence, Waldorf, MD. He enjoyed his computer and was self-taught. He loved to read a lot.

Born March 7, 1934, in Chester, MA; he was the son of the late Charles A. Keeler and the late Marion Closson Keeler.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife, Annie Keeler; son, William E. Bartron and his wife Joannie of Hughesville, MD; daughters, Linda Crawford and her husband Robert of Mechanicsville, MD; Paula Williams and her husband Edward of La Plata, MD; Bonnie Keeler of Winchester, VA; brother, Charles Keeler of FL; sister, Muriel Brett of MA. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 10:30AM, at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Pastor Richard Young will officiate.

Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
