Maurice Wilmer Hutchins, 82, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on January 10, 2010 at his home. He was born January 2, 1928 in Calvert County, MD to the late Hazel Briscoe Wood and Maurice E. Hutchins.

He is also predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Charlene Hutchins and a sister, Delores Evelyn Norwood-Hutchins.

Mr. Hutchins had a passion for home construction and remodeling, and could always find a way to improve or remodel.

He was a devoted family man, and is survived by his wife, Verna B. Hutchins, daughters Barbara Louise Reece, Debra Jean Buckmaster and Diana Lee Herche all of Prince Frederick. Grandfather of 10, great grandfather of 24, he is also survived by his siblings, Aileen Anna Matteson, Chester Wood Hutchins, both of Prince Frederick and Shelva Jean Ogden, of Port Republic.

The family will receive friends on Thursday January 14, 2010 at Full Gospel Assembly God Church, 890 Solomons Island Road South, Prince Frederick from 10-11 A.M. where services will follow at 11 A.M. Reverend Todd Marple and Reverend William Davis will be officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Barstow, MD.
