Rita Thomasine Roderick, 89, of Welcome, MD, died January 7, 2010, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Roderick was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family and their successes. She took great pride in every family member's victory, but expected no credit for her own. She was a strong willed individual who built her life around family, faith, trips to the casino and concern for others.

Born August 27, 1920, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Boni and the late Mary Tassa Boni.

Predeceased by her parents; husband, Edward T. Roderick; son, Edward T. Roderick, Jr.; sister, Violet Washington.

Survived by her sons, Michael and his wife Nancy Roderick, of Bowie, MD; Patrick Roderick of Welcome, MD; Kevin and his wife Melanie Roderick of Centreville, VA. Also survived by five grandchildren, Stacy, Carie, Brian, Jenna and Alicia; five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 11, 2010, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, beginning at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Church, La Plata, MD.

Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
