Melton Leach, son of the late Clarence and the late Carrie Leach, was born on July 11, 1915 in Dillion, South Carolina. He entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Civista Medical Center.
Melton, who was affectionately known as "Melt," was educated in the school system of South Carolina. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1943 and later met his late wife, Annie Louise. Together they came to the Maryland area because of an employment opportunity for Melt. He ultimately retired as a Construction Laborer with All Quest Brothers. Melt was a loveable man who enjoyed the simpler things in life like football and checkers. He was family oriented and adored his granddaughter, Tyra. He would often check on his family to see how they were doing and friends as well. Left behind to share many memories are his daughter, Sharon M. Leach-Stewart, granddaughter, Tyra S. Leach, son-in-law, James H. Stewart, sister, Elease Beecham, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. His viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 29th, 11:00am until time of services 12:00noon in the Chapel of THORNTON Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. The interment will take place on Wednesday, December 30th, 10:00am at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements provided by Thornton Funeral Home. |
