Karlye Edward Pervine, 81, of Indian Head, MD, died November 24, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Pervine was a retired Master Chief for the United States Navy having served for 21 years and had earned numerous awards including the American Theatre Victory Medal and the Fidelity, Zeal and Obedience award. Upon retiring, he joined the staff at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where he worked at the hospital as an administrator and at the university as a support services assistant administrator for more than 20 years. After retiring he pursued many business endeavors including general contractor, and planning, renovating and building homes. He was active in the church serving as a deacon at Calvary Gospel Church and enjoyed fellowship with the Soup and Salad Bible Study Group. He enjoyed being with family and friends and spent time enjoying the waterfront view from his deck at home and sharing stories with loved ones.

Born July 8, 1928, in Glendale, OH, he was the son of the late Karl Broadus Pervine and the late Emma George West Blyden Pervine.

Predeceased by his parents; son, Kenneth W. Pervine.

Survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Judy A. Pervine; daughter, Gail Williamson and son-in-law Sylvester; son, Karl E. Pervine; daughter, Angela Brooks; son, Gregory Pervine and daughter-in-law Keia; ten grandchildren; Karen Mosley and husband Richard, Jennifer, Kimberly, Antonio, Karl M., James, Damon, Desmond, Alesia, and Justin; three great-grandchildren; Vincent, Richard and Tori.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009, 10AM to 12 Noon, at Calvary Gospel Church, 11150 Berry Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009, 12 Noon, at Calvary Gospel Church, Waldorf, MD.

Rev. Allan Canter will officiate.

Interment will be Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 10AM, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
