Russell A. "Skip" Burch, Sr., 80, of Waldorf, MD, died November 17, 2009, at Georgetown University Hospital.

Mr. Burch was a self-employed cemetery monument dealer for 28 years. He is a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with four bronze stars. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, the VFW Post in Waldorf, the American Legion Edwin Adams Post #293. Also enjoyed cards with family and friends.

Born August 30, 1929, in Waldorf, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Vernon Burch and the late Hattie Marguerite Roberts Burch.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Clarence "Dick" Burch, James "Cotton" Burch, and Roy "Buddy" Burch.

Survived by his wife Bertha Ann Buckler Burch; one daughter, Joyce Brenda and her husband John McConnell, Jr. of La Plata, MD; five sons, Russell A. and his wife Margie Burch, Jr. Of White Plains, MD; George Burch of Waldorf, MD; James "Tinyboy" Burch of Waldorf, MD; Philip E. and his wife Kathleen Burch of Hughesville, MD; and Robert L. and his wife Jody Burch of Waldorf, MD; brother, Joseph Burch of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2009, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Aaron Rummage will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Paul's - Piney Church Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Cody, Brett, Russell III, and Robert Burch, Jr. And Jonathan McConnell.
