Holli Susanne Hempel White, 37, of Port Tobacco, MD passed away November 5, 2009 at the Washington Hospital Center, due to complications of the H1N1 Virus.

Holli was gifted with a beautiful voice and sang for God. She loved family, friends and music.

Holli graduated from Lackey High School in 1990 and North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. While at NCSU, Holli organized and led The Ladies in Red musical group, accompanied The Grains of Sand men's vocal chorus, and also accompanied the college chorus. While in college, she was also the music director at Layden Memorial United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC. Upon returning to Charles County, Holli taught chorus at the Archbishop Neale and St. Mary's Star of the Sea Schools. She later became Music Director at Lakeside United Methodist Church, and subsequently, the Music Director at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, both in Waldorf, MD. In addition, Holli taught piano and voice, and in 1999, organized the Godspeed Praise Band. She also performed in numerous Port Tobacco Players productions.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alvin Anthony Gautreaux of Bryans Road, MD and Albert Charles Hempel and Annie Booth Hempel, of New York, NY; and step-brother, Darrell Wayne Chilson of White Plains, MD.

She is survived by her daughters, Allison Sandra & Rebecca Susanne White and their father, Richard Glenn White of La Plata, MD; her brother and his wife, Alan Charles and Deborah Hempel of Rougemont, NC; her mother and step-father, Toni Gautreaux and Michael Morse of White Plains, MD; her father and step-mother Robert Charles and Linda Dianne Hempel of White Plains, MD; her grandmother, Sue Webb Gautreaux of Bryans Road, MD; step-sister Jacquelyn Morse; and her aunt, Geraldine Hempel Davis of Richmond, VA. In addition she has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held November 12, 2009 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, at Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata, MD.

Funeral service will be November 13, 2009 beginning at 11AM at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (305 East Smallwood Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holli White Memorial Fund or The Allison Foundation.
