Florence May Yow, 89, of Waldorf, MD, died October 24, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

Mrs. Yow worked in retail sales for 20 years at Judy's Hallmark. She was a member of the Waldorf Seniors Club at Jaycee's Hall, Bible Study at St. Paul's and Coffee Hour host. She was an avid Redskin fan, loved word search puzzles, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going out to dine with friends and collecting rag dolls.

Born February 19, 1920, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Frank H. Wilds and the late Elizabeth Prusser Wilds.

Predeceased by her parents; husband, James Arthur Yow, II; daughter, Dolores May Myers; sister, Frances Sheirburn; granddaughter, Donna Yow.

Survived by her son, James A. Yow, III, of VA; grandchildren, Stephen Myers, Regina Williams, Mark Myers, Denise Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Alex Hyers, Josie Myers, Zachary Myers, Mark Myers, Ryleigh Williams, Brittany Hatcher, Charles Hatcher, John Hatcher and Katilin Hatcher.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2009, from 5PM until 8PM, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service will be Monday, November 2, 2009, beginning at 1PM, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Waldorf, MD.

Rev. Joy Rose will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Myers, Alex Myers, Mike Williams and Steve Myers, Sammy Tayman and Johnny Sims.

Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
