John David Thompson, beloved father, son, and brother, 60, of Hollywood, Maryland, passed into God's care Sunday, October 25, 2009, at St. Mary's County Nursing Center in Leonardtown, Maryland.
Born June 12, 1949, in Leonardtown, Maryland, he was the son of John Briscoe Thompson and Erma Joy Thompson. David was a small business owner, Superior Painters, a custom home painting contractor serving the tri-county area of Southern Maryland. Prior to starting his own business, David worked in Indian Head as a heating and air specialist, then at the Harry Lundeburg School of Seamanship at Piney Point, Maryland, as a chauffeur. David graduated from Chopticon High School in 1967. He is survived by his parents John B. and Erma Thompson, his daughter, Victoria Lee Cantrell (Doug), his sisters, Virginia Thompson Lacey (Donald) and Brenda Thompson Bond (Paul Henkelman), his nephew, Broderick Bond (Lisa), and two granddaughters, Casey and Gillian Bacon. Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Sheldon M. Reese on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be private. Serving as pallbearers will be Broderick Bond, Kevin Guy, Paul Henkelman, Larry Joy, Donald Lacey, and Tom Wilson.
