Mr. Phillips was a truck delivery man with Breyer's Ice Cream in Washington, DC for 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, NASCAR, and watching his TV. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII with General Patton and was of the Baptist faith.
Predeceased by his wife, Nita Fletcher Phillips, one sister and two brothers. Survived by his sister-in-law, Evelyn Laudenberger, of Waldorf, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10AM at MD Veterans' Cemetery Chapel, Cheltenham, MD. Pallbearers: Joe Goldsmith, Pat Scott, Alan Worsham, Ronnie Worsham, Merriel Worsham, and Mickey Norris. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Army Honor Guard.
