Robert Lee Martin of La Plata, Maryland died on Thursday September 17, 2009. Mr. Martin was born on April 17, 1922 in Issue, Maryland to the late Herman H. Martin and Ada Clements Martin.

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Elsie Mae Martin, brothers; Edward Louis Martin, Herman H. Martin, Jr., sisters; Hilda Fenwick, Florence Edwards, Natalie Campbell, and Eloise Martin.

He is survived by his Children Nancy Wheatley, Allen Martin, Joseph Martin, and Chris Martin. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home 211 St. Mary's Ave. La Plata, Md. 20646 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with prayers at 7:30pm.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday September 23, 2009 at 10am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church LaPlata, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
