Helen E. Pilkerton, 88, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on September 3, 2009.

She is predeceased by her parents; Joseph S. Hammett and Ellen E. Woodburn Hammett. Her Husband; James R. Pilkerton. Sons; James L. Pilkerton, Thomas Pilkerton, and Michael Pilkerton, Brother; Forbes Hammett.

She is survived by her children; Margaret Readey, Louise Burton, Lee Pilkerton, Richard Pilkerton, Diane Readey, Harold Pilkerton, and Pam Hooker. Her Sisters; Ida C. Quade, and Bertha Quade. 13 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren.

She loved to garden, read, and spend time with her family.

A life celebration will be held on Monday, September 7, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm & from 6 to 8 pm with prayers at 7 pm at AREHART-ECHOLS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 10 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church-Chapel Point, MD with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Charles County.
