Maria Consoli Cianciolo, 94, of Waldorf, MD, died August 23, 2009, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Cianciolo passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three loving children and many adoring family members.

Mrs. Cianciolo was born on January 11, 1915, in Nicolosi, Sicily. Maria lived in Sicily for 41 years before bravely venturing off with her young family to America.

Mrs. Cianciolo was a longstanding, faithful follower of Saint John Baptist de a Salle in Chillum, MD, and a member of the Nicolosi Club. Maria was a beautiful, wise, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A homemaker, the likes of which we no longer witness, Maria Cianciolo was truly devoted to her family.

Born January 11, 1915, in Nicolosi, Siciley, she was the daughter of the late Antonino Consoli and the late Madalena Crimi.

Predeceased by her parents, her late husband of 61 years, Filippo Cianciolo, and one brother, Egidio Consoli.

Survived by her three beloved children, Lorenza (Tom) Sandusky of San Antonio, TX, Sebastian (Maria) Cianciolo of Columbia, MD, and Anthony (Marie) Cianciolo of Waldorf, MD; two brothers, Luigi Consoli of FL and Franco Consoli of Sicily; and one sister, Angelina Consolo of Sicily. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009, from 10:30 - 11AM at Our Lady of Grace, 15661 Norbeck Boulevard, Silver Spring, MD 20906.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 11AM at Our Lady of Grace, Silver Spring, MD.

Father Peter Sweeney will officiate.

Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
